Jim Thomsen was raised on Bainbridge Island, educated at a Seventh-day Adventist boarding school and graduated from Western Washington University. He spent more than twenty years in newspaper journalism as a writer and editor, most recently as the news editor at the Kitsap Sun in Bremerton.
Since 2010, he has worked as a copy editor of book manuscripts, primarily for self-publishing fiction authors. To date, through his company, Desolation Island Editing Services, he has helped nearly one hundred writers make their dream of becoming published authors of quality fiction come true.
Jim is working on his own novel, a hardboiled crime tale set in his native Kitsap County titled You Have Twenty-Four Hours. He makes his home in West Seattle and can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
